Cooking Method

Put the potato cubes in a saucepan of boiling water.  Bring back to the boil and cook for 5 minutes.  Drain potatoes and rinse under cold water.  Pat dry with paper towel.  If you are using sweet potato or pumpkin just cut into cubes and add to the pan.  You do not need to boil them first.

Heat the ghee  or oil in a non-stick frying pan. Add the Spice Blendz Bengali Spicy Potatoes seed mix and cook for 1 minute or until seeds pop.  Add the remaining packet of blended spice and cook for 30 seconds or until aromatic.  Add the onion and cook until softened.  Add the garlic,  potato cubes, (raw pumpkin and sweet potato) if you are using them and coat in the onion and spice blend.  Stir often and cook for 15 minutes or until potatoes are cooked and golden brown.

Serving Suggestion – sprinkle with lime juice and fresh coriander leaves.

Enjoy

Amazing punchy flavour, good amount of spice, good amount of heat. Very tasty.

We discovered the spiceblendz at Flinders Sunday Market and now each Sunday is our Spicy Sunday!
We choose a blend and then head off for the meat and veg. We were amazed by the pungency and authenticity of the Bengali Potato mix (we added cauliflower florets, and green beans for colour). We’ll be stocking up on this one.
